What is BOTOX®?
Every time you see your reflection in the mirror, are you troubled by wrinkles and lines on your forehead and surrounding your eyes? Frequently called dynamic wrinkles and lines, these skin issues occur due to continuous expressions, such as frowning, squinting, and smiling. As people mature, these lines and wrinkles eventually stay put and can make them appear fatigued.
Thanks to BOTOX Cosmetic, we can often temporarily diminish the formation of moderate to severe frown lines, Crow's feet, and forehead creases. BOTOX Cosmetic is derived from a purified type A strain of botulinum toxin. It temporarily blocks the muscles that enable those movements, letting the skin rebound over time. At Luxe Nova Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, physician assistant Sarah Leslie is excited to perform BOTOX injections as a minimally invasive solution to help individuals attain a younger-looking, rejuvenated outcome. We invite you to reach out to our office in Concord, NH to learn more about BOTOX Cosmetic!
How does BOTOX® work?
During your first treatment consultation at Luxe Nova Medical Aesthetics, Sarah will perform a cosmetic examination to help you determine which areas need treatment. BOTOX is generally an efficient outpatient procedure so your injections can commonly be administered during the same visit. The formulation will be injected into the problem areas of your brow or upper face using a small needle. The treatment takes a few minutes to carry out, and many patients report only mild discomfort (such as a pinprick or pinching feeling). At the end of your appointment, you can leave our practice and go about your daily activities.
Am I a good candidate for Botox®?
The best candidates for Botox are in good overall health and have moderate to severe facial wrinkles or folds in areas that Botox can treat, such as around or between the eyes, the forehead, the neck and mouth.
What are the benefits of Botox®?
Botox, like most injectables, is used to restore a youthful appearance to the face or neck and treat issues like fine lines, wrinkles, and folds. In addition, Botox is used to minimize muscle activity and delay the signs of aging.

Botox treatments are quick, require little downtime, and provide noticeable results quickly. Although most patients choose Botox for aesthetic reasons, they serve a medical purpose for some and can help with migraines, excessive sweating, and more. However, the results are not permanent, and repeat injections are needed every four to six months.
What is recovery like? Are there any side effects?
The appeal of cosmetic injections like Botox is that it provides quick results with virtually no recovery period. However, just like any medical treatment, each patient might respond differently. Although the odds of having an adverse reaction are very low, our medical staff will explain all the risks and possible side effects before you undergo treatment.
Some patients may experience minor bruising or swelling at the injection site which is temporary. We are happy to answer any questions about your injections during your appointment, so you feel prepared and comfortable.
How many treatments should I get?
The number of treatments needed and the frequency of those treatments depend on your body chemistry, medical history, and desired results.
Like most injectable treatments, Botox is part of an ongoing beauty regimen, which means it isn’t a permanent solution and will require follow-up visits which is typically every 3-4 months.
